1900 O New Orleans Minted Silver Dollar Coin

These 1990 O dollars is plentiful in the Mint State. The striking quality can vary widely and it will pay to some picking and choosing. The luster is usually excellent but it is quite a few have prominent planchet striations. The strike varies from weak to quite sharp but it is enough sharp pieces that exist the search will not be long. The mint luster of this 1900 O is typically frosty and attractive. The optimal collecting grade of this American silver dollar is the MS-65. It is satiny smooth and has a nicely struck example with a strong cartwheel luster and full of mint brilliant. The proofs like coins of the 1900 O are the most part unattractive and deeply proof like coins are rare. It has many raised dies swirls from the basining process. Few have has cameo contrast. Many of the 1900 O dollars were paid out in the early years, and quantities were remained in the storage in the treasury building in Washington DC and in the Philadelphia. It is designed by George T. Morgan. In the measurement of 38.1 millimeters in diameter and it is weight of 26.73 grams. It is consisting of 90 percent of silver and 10 percent of copper which is metal content of each Morgan coins. The mint mark is the letter “O” that stands for the New Orleans that is beneath the bow in the reverse. There are many mint mark positions in this releasing most have with medium O with some exceptions.
